The American Center for Reading & Expression brings together people and institutions connected by books: readers, authors, illustrators, librarians, educators, publishers, booksellers, and community partners.
Our purpose is to turn that shared commitment into sustained work for literacy, the joy of reading, freedom of expression, meaningful access to books, and a healthy culture of human creativity.
As The ACRE builds its programs and partnerships, this page will feature organizational announcements, new collaborations, public statements, convenings, research initiatives, and opportunities to participate in our work. It will also show how individual projects connect to the larger goal: helping more people become readers and ensuring that reading can thrive.
